Are there beaches nearby?
The local beach is located north of Sukasa past the marina about 3 blocks. The beach has semi-dark coarse sand. There are a few palapas for shade, but no other services. The water is safe for swimming, but we do recommend water shoes in case you uncover a "sly" stingray in the sand. Remember, Loreto is not as "touristy" as some other well known Baja beach resort destinations. Nearby Coronado Island has a beautiful white sand beach as well as numerous coves found around Carmen Island. You can hire a "panga" and captain to take you on the Coronado tour or to show you other "secret spots". South of Loreto is Juncalito Beach ( approx 20 min) and Ensenada Blanca (approx 30 min). There is also a great beach located in Nopolo at the Inn at Loreto Bay.

How do we get from the airport to Sukasa?
There are taxis waiting at the aiport upon your arrival. Loreto International is very small and you will have no problem getting a ride. The cost should be no more than $20.00. If you prefer, we can arrange a more personal "airport pickup" where you will be greeted and personally escorted to your hotel by one of Loreto's transportation companies.

Are there restaurants and food stores nearby?
Yes, there are numerous wonderful restaurants within walking distance of Sukasa. The closest of many neighborhood markets is located two blocks behind us and the main market, El Pescador, is located on the main street( Ave.Salvatierra) at the stop light-about a 10-15 minute walk from our property.

Do the bungalows have a TV?
Each unit has a 16 inch TV/VCR. Ask for our list of videos for your viewing pleasure. There are a few video stores in the area also. We do not have satellite connection so you will only have 3 Spanish stations available.

What about telephone or internet service?
The bungalows do not have a telephone. There are two internet cafes with within walking distance. The one next to Cafe Ole' has Wi-Fi for laptops. We suggest you purchase a phone card for your long distance and local calls to use from the public telephones. Make sure you get the plastic card from "Telmex". You can purchase them from many stores starting at 50 pesos. We do have wi-fi for your lap top.

Is smoking allowed?
There is no smoking in the units or on the property. We ask our clients to be considerate of those that don't smoke and smoke outside the property. Muchas gracias!

Do you allow pets?
We have a very strict pet policy. Occasionally, we allow small dogs but our canine "guests" will be approved upon an individual basis. If you are traveling with your pet, let us know at the time of your inquiry.

Is the area quiet?
Typically, the "malecon" or waterfront is tranquil and peaceful. However, being right on the water does draw both tourists and local residents. On Friday and Saturday nights, the local pastime is to "cruise the malecon" in their cars, playing music and having a few cervezas. Festivals at the marina, team championships, and Quinceaneras throughout town, are vigorously celebrated by the Loretanos and foreign residents alike that enjoy participating in these traditional events. There are bars in the area that may obtain late night permits to play music until early morning hours during holidays and special celebrations.

Is it necessary to exchange currency?
Are credit cards accepted? US dollars are accepted everywhere in town. We suggest you exchage some dollars for pesos at the bank. The exchange rate at the bank will be better than some of the local establishments. The ATM will also give you pesos when you make a withdrawal with your ATM card from your home bank. There are numerous restaurants and shops that don't accept credit cards.

What are the bungalow kitchens like?
There is a refrigerator, microwave, toaster, coffee maker, and a double electric burner. Basic plates, glasses,eating and cooking utensils, and pots/pans are provided. There is also a BBQ on the premises. The casita has a full kitchen with a stove/oven.

Do you provide maid service?
Your room will be tidied up everyday. Trash will be taken out, the bed made and the floor swept and mopped as needed. We will change the sheets on the fourth day of a week stay. We are glad to give fresh towels when requested-just let us know.

Do you have a pool?
No

Is the water safe to drink?
The city water is safe and many residents drink right from the tap. We use it for cooking, bathing and brushing teeth. However, we prefer bottled water for drinking and ice.
