Brenda García has lived in Loreto for four years, and serves as technical assistant for Eco-Alianza's marine and coastal conservation programs. She graduated with a degree in fisheries science and biology from the Autonomous University of Sinaloa. Brenda's expertise in geographical information systems (GIS) has shown her that this tool is of utmost importance for the elaboration of documents that generate important changes in decision-making in social, ecological and economic fields. She enjoys helping fishermen to organize their fishing cooperatives to work more efficiently because she believes organization is the key to the success of the cooperative fisheries and the stability of marine resources. Brenda is finishing a master's degree in environmental economics and natural resources at UABCS.
