HIKING
The rugged mountains of the Sierra La Giganta and the twisted palm canyons south of Loreto offer many excellent trekking opportunities. Most of the year, you can find hidden oasis with fresh cool water that forms iridescent pools in the rocks polished smooth for centuries. Unique flora and fauna reside in these less traveled hideaways full of green and blue palms and ancient fig trees, providing birdwatchers and reptile seekers a great opportunity to view rare species. It is advised that visitors travel with lots of extra water and be sure to pack out what you pack in.
